With K_Engineering Hub, K_Tomorrow Factory and K_Precision Parts, Kläger SPC is realigning its service portfolio. The company combines decades of in-house engineering and plastics expertise with industrial additive manufacturing (industrial 3D printing) and high-precision series production. The aim is to accelerate development processes, pool expertise more effectively and support customers on a modular and independent basis, from engineering through to series production.
Hartha, 21 October 2026 – Kläger SPC GmbH & Co. KG is sharpening its strategic focus and will in future structure its service portfolio into three business units: K_Engineering Hub, K_Tomorrow Factory and K_Precision Parts. In doing so, the company is systematically developing its existing expertise, supporting customers at earlier stages of the value chain and at the same time opening up additional services and new business areas – including outside the PPS and automotive sectors.
“We are consistently taking the next step in our evolution,” explains Kristian Kläger, CEO of Kläger SPC GmbH & Co. KG. “Over decades, we have built up extensive know-how in development, design engineering, prototyping, material selection and industrial plastics processing. We are now pooling this knowledge even more closely and making it available on a much larger scale to both our existing customers and potential customers from new markets.”
K_Engineering Hub: Development Expertise as a Service
With the K_Engineering Hub, Kläger SPC is positioning itself as an independent development and consulting partner, building on more than 40 years of experience in plastics development. The range of services extends from design engineering, manufacturability assessments and material consulting to simulations and tool and fixture design.
Examples include the development of components and product systems for fuel cell applications, structural components and functional housings, as well as technically demanding parts such as pump and valve bodies, electronics housings, air ducts and fluid routing components.
Companies can use the Engineering Hub as an external engineering department or specifically to support their own development teams.
“Our aim is to get involved early in the development process and find the solution that is right both technically and economically,” says Ronny Langer, Head of Development and member of the plant management team at Kläger SPC GmbH & Co. KG. “Our advice is technology-agnostic. What matters is the best solution for the respective application.”
K_Tomorrow Factory: Additive Manufacturing on an Industrial Scale
A key element of the realignment is the K_Tomorrow Factory. What is new is not the company’s involvement with 3D printing and prototyping: Kläger SPC has been developing and designing prototypes for years, drawing on both its own capabilities and a broad network of specialised external partners. In recent years, this know-how has been deliberately expanded with additional in-house experts. The focus is also increasingly shifting to applications outside the automotive industry. In the non-automotive sector in particular, as well as in the defence industry, Kläger SPC is opening up new fields of application for its development and manufacturing expertise.
With the Tomorrow Factory, this expertise is now being consolidated in-house and expanded for industrial applications. Filament-based printing systems are used to produce functional prototypes, individual parts, production aids, fixtures and spare parts, as well as pre-series, small batches and special series. Rapid tooling – the fast production of tools and fixtures – is also part of the service portfolio. Standard materials such as PLA, PETG, ABS and ASA are used; however, the focus is particularly on engineering-grade and highly filled filaments such as TPU, glass-fibre-filled TPU, PC-CF, PET-CF and even PPS-CF. In the short to medium term, the company also aims to process the granulates used in its own injection moulding operations on its 3D printing systems.
“We want to become faster and more flexible and use additive manufacturing where it offers genuine technical and economic added value,” explains Robert Wallrabe, Project & Business Development Manager at Kläger SPC GmbH & Co. KG. “A technology we have been using for years is thus becoming an independent industrial service offering.”
Kläger SPC sees particular potential in spare parts and fixtures, such as handling equipment, and in low volumes. Industrial and mechanical engineering customers are increasingly coming into focus as new target groups. Components can be stored digitally and produced on demand.
K_Precision Parts: Decades of Series Production Expertise
K_Precision Parts represents Kläger SPC’s established core business. Since 1992, the company has been manufacturing demanding precision components from thermoplastics in Saxony.
It has particular expertise in high-performance engineering plastics such as PPS and in plastic-metal hybrid solutions. Kläger SPC produces complex precision parts in both small and large quantities, supporting applications in mobility, defence and industry, among others.
Three Independent Competencies, One Kläger Brand
The three business units are interlinked, but customers can also use them independently of one another. Companies can make use of the Engineering Hub’s development services alone, go directly to the Tomorrow Factory with finished CAD data, or commission K_Precision Parts for series production.
Combined, they create a seamless service chain: from the initial idea and design through functional prototypes and pre-series to industrial series production.
“Our customers decide which expertise they need. At the same time, we can cover development, prototyping, additive manufacturing and series production within one competence network,” confirms Ronny Langer, Head of Development and member of the plant management team at Kläger SPC GmbH & Co. KG.
With its strategic realignment, Kläger SPC aims to be involved even earlier in its customers’ development processes.
Back to overview“We want to be the first point of contact and problem solver for all technical challenges – especially when fast solutions are needed or human resources are lacking. It doesn’t matter whether the end result is an additively manufactured individual part, a small batch or a high-precision injection-moulded part,” summarises Kristian Kläger, CEO of Kläger SPC GmbH & Co. KG. “With the Engineering Hub, the Tomorrow Factory and Precision Parts, we are combining our existing strengths with new opportunities to serve our customers as a reliable partner, develop individual solutions and create sustainable added value.”
