Our Solutions for Your Challenges

We manufacture individual parts, functional prototypes and production aids using state-of-the-art filament-based additive manufacturing and, where required, provide design engineering expertise through our Engineering Hub and its in-house design engineers.

Rapid Implementation

Prototypes and components within a few days instead of weeks for fast development and production.

No Tooling Costs

Cost-effective additive manufacturing of individual parts and small batches without any tooling investment.

Flexible Development

Implement design changes and ideas at any time, without new tools or long lead times.

Permanent Availability

Keep spare parts as digital CAD data and produce them locally only when needed, without costly warehousing.

Scalable

From prototype and small batch through to subsequent series production with just one partner.

Competence Network

Additive manufacturing know-how and consulting, engineering and series production expertise from a single source.

Additive Manufacturing with a Future

Our Services at a Glance

  • Prototypes & samples: functional prototypes, individual parts and test samples from 3D printing
  • Rapid prototyping: short iteration cycles for fast product development following the build-test-learn principle
  • Additive small-batch production: cost-effective production of pre-series and small batches without tooling costs
  • Additive series production: permanently in 3D printing where economically viable
  • Component optimisation: analysis and optimisation of existing components in terms of design, material and additive manufacturing
  • Material & process consulting: selection of the optimal material and manufacturing process for specific applications

The Right Prototype for the Right Project Phase

Not every sample has to fulfil the same purpose. An early functional prototype needs to be available quickly, while a production-like prototype must represent geometry, surface finish and overall appearance as realistically as possible. For initial market tests or technical approvals, an injection-moulded part made from the original material may already be required.

That’s why we combine different processes and work with you to choose the right approach.

Filament-Based Functional Prototypes

For rapid functional tests, installation space checks, assembly trials, fixtures and initial development iterations.

Filament-based samples are ideal for early functional and geometry testing. However, depending on the part, surface finish, haptics and detail resolution differ significantly from the final injection-moulded part.

Ideal for:

  • Fast availability
  • Geometry and fit checks
  • Initial functional tests
  • Production aids and fixtures
  • Robust technical samples

SLA Prototypes

For high-resolution samples, fine details, better surface quality and a more production-like appearance.

SLA does not automatically replace an injection-moulded part, but it is far better suited when surface finish, detail accuracy and visual impression are the priority.

Ideal for:

  • Design and presentation models
  • Visible (cosmetic) parts
  • Fine details
  • High-resolution geometry checks
  • Parts with a look and feel closer to injection moulding

Rapid Tooling

For the first genuine injection-moulded parts made from the original material, without investing directly in a full series production mould.

Depending on quantity and requirements, we use different approaches: in-house mould inserts, for example produced with our SLA technology, or external specialist partners for rapid tooling with aluminium moulds.

Ideal for:

  • Technical approvals
  • Material testing with the original plastic
  • First low volumes in injection moulding
  • Production-like component evaluation
  • Pre-series and market tests

From Model to Functional Component

Do you already have finished CAD data? Then we’ll assess together which manufacturing process makes sense for your next development step.

If no design exists yet, we develop a solution together with our Engineering Hub. This way, we combine development, prototype construction, additive manufacturing and production-like implementation into one seamless process.

For early functional and geometry tests, we produce fast samples using filament-based additive manufacturing. When surface finish, detail accuracy or visual appearance are more important, we use SLA processes. If you need initial parts made from the original material, we evaluate rapid tooling solutions up to the first injection-moulded parts.

From Functional Prototype to Cost-Effective Small Batch

After the first sample, the question often arises: is an additively manufactured part sufficient, or do we need to take the next step towards series quality?

For early tests, a filament-based functional prototype may be entirely sufficient. For design, surface finish and detail accuracy, an SLA prototype may be the better choice. When material behaviour, shrinkage, haptics or approvals under series conditions become relevant, the next step often leads via rapid tooling to the first injection-moulded parts made from the original material.

Many industrial applications, such as production aids, fixtures or spare parts, remain permanently cost-effective in industrial 3D printing.

This is exactly where our additive small-batch production comes in. We produce pre-series, small batches and customised special solutions flexibly, cost-effectively, without tooling costs and with short lead times.

The result is a clear development path: from fast samples and production-like prototypes to cost-effective small-batch production.

Possible Manufacturing Routes

  • Additively manufactured individual parts and functional prototypes
  • SLA prototypes for surface finish and details
  • Rapid tooling for very low injection moulding volumes
  • Aluminium moulds for larger small batches
  • Bridge production until the series mould is ready
  • Production ramp-up within the Kläger Group competence network

If quantities continue to rise, we support the transition to series production.
